Women and girls in sport

This workshop is designed for coaches and officials to build capability in supporting women and girls in sport. It will focus on creating inclusive, welcoming environments and strengthening knowledge, skills and confidence in coaching and officiating women and girls. Participants will explore practical strategies, share experiences, and identify actions they can apply in their own sporting settings.

  • Rebecca Van Asch

    High Performance Manager, Bowls Australia

    Rebecca Van Asch is a former Australian Jackeroo and current Bowls Australia’s High Performance Manager.

    Van Asch has donned the green and gold uniform on 264 occasions and boasts three World Championship titles in addition to two Commonwealth Games gold medals.

    She is the Bowls Australia assistant coach and has played a significant role in developing and mentoring young bowling talent.

  • Zoe Mesman

    Head Basketball Coach, Northern Force Women (NBL1)

    Zoe Mesman is a Tasmanian basketball coach with experience across club and state representative basketball. She previously coached the Launceston Tornadoes Basketball Club and has worked within Tasmania’s representative pathways.

    In late 2025, Ms Mesman was appointed as the inaugural head coach of the Northern Force Women’s NBL1 team. She has also served as Tasmania’s Women’s Under 20 State Representative Coach.
