Building Tasmania is seeking feedback to help identify opportunities to improve accessibility at bus stops along the Arthur Highway, East Derwent Highway and Tasman Highway corridors. The project is assessing 116 bus stops to better understand current conditions and identify accessibility issues that may affect public transport users.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who use public transport, walk, wheel or ride to bus stops, support people with disability, represent older Tasmanians or have knowledge of local accessibility issues.

  • issues affecting older people accessing public transport
  • locations that are important to your community
  • opportunities to improve access to public transport.

About the project

The project includes assessments of:

  • 27 bus stops along the Arthur Highway between Forcett and Port Arthur
  • 53 bus stops along the East Derwent Highway between Rose Bay and Bridgewater
  • 36 bus stops along the Tasman Highway between Sorell and Scottsdale.

This is a scoping project only.

The current project phase involves site assessments and options analysis and does not confirm future upgrades at individual bus stop locations. Feedback received through this engagement will help inform future planning and prioritisation activities.
