We are inviting the community and stakeholders to share your thoughts and feedback on the proposed design for the Gordons Hill Road on-ramp to the Tasman Highway, and proposed upgrades to the Bligh Street intersection.

Your feedback and insights will help us get a better understanding of how you use the road and what we need to consider to develop the final designs for this project.

Public consultation is open from Monday 7 September 2026 to Monday 5 October 2026.

We have developed designs for:

• constructing an on-ramp to connect Gordons Hill Road with the Tasman Highway
• improved footpaths and crossing points for people who walk, wheel, ride and catch public transport
• upgrades to the section of Gordons Hill Road at the Bligh Street intersection.

About the project

The Gordons Hill Road Interchange project is one of four projects within the Mornington Area Road Improvements Program.

The project includes:

• constructing an on-ramp to connect Gordons Hill Road with the Tasman Highway
• upgrading the section of Gordons Hill Road at the Bligh Street intersection
• improvements for people who walk, wheel, ride, and catch public transport
• further planning and design development for an off-ramp from the Tasman Highway to Gordons Hill Road.

The aim of this project is to provide a safer and more connected road network with improved traffic management and access.

It will relieve traffic pressure on Cambridge Road and the Mornington roundabout and reduce pressure on the South Arm Highway and broader Mornington area, particularly in peak traffic periods.

What are we asking?

We would like to hear from members of the community on the proposed concept designs. Your feedback and insights will help us get a better understanding of how you use the road and what we need to consider to develop the final designs for this project.

This may include feedback relating to:

• pedestrian access and movement
• public transport access
• local traffic movements
• parking considerations
• property access
• construction impacts
• safety considerations
• other local matters we should understand.
