We are inviting the community and stakeholders to share your thoughts and feedback on the proposed design for the Gordons Hill Road on-ramp to the Tasman Highway, and proposed upgrades to the Bligh Street intersection.

Your feedback and insights will help us get a better understanding of how you use the road and what we need to consider to develop the final designs for this project.

Public consultation is open from Monday 7 September 2026 to Monday 5 October 2026.


Tasman Highway on-ramp

Concept design

We have developed a design for a new on-ramp connecting Gordons Hill Road to the Tasman Highway.

The proposed on-ramp would provide Mornington-bound vehicles access to the Tasman Highway from Gordons Hill Road, creating a more direct connection from Rosny and Bellerive. Vehicles travelling along Gordons Hill Road from Lindisfarne will not be able to turn left to access the on-ramp.

This project will help relieve traffic pressure on Cambridge Road and the Mornington roundabout.

Gordons Hill Road / Bligh Street Intersection Concept Design

We have proposed upgrades along Gordons Hill Road to help minimise potential impacts to road users.

The changes include:

  • traffic flow improvements, including new traffic lights at the Bligh Street intersection
  • improving pedestrian crossings at the Gordons Hill Road and Bligh Street intersection
  • widening both Gordons Hill Road and Bligh Street to include dedicated turning lanes, allowing vehicles to flow smoothly through the intersection
  • changing the Cumberland Street and Gordons Hill Road intersection so vehicles can only perform left in and left out turns.

For us to widen the road, we will need to remove the roundabout and 17 parking spaces on Bligh Street and Gordons Hill Road. We will discuss these changes directly with impacted business and landowners to better understand any potential impacts.
